Christmas in London isn’t complete without Jazz Carols at Methodist Central Hall Westminster. This year’s event takes place on Sunday, 21 December at 6pm in the stunning Great Hall — a venue famous for its rich acoustics and historic role as the host of the first meeting of the United Nations in 1946.
Led by saxophonist Dan Forshaw and the Jazz Vespers ensemble, Jazz Carols reimagines much-loved Christmas carols with the soulful improvisation of jazz. It’s a festive tradition that’s been drawing full houses since 2017 and is now one of the capital’s most distinctive Christmas events.
What to Expect at Jazz Carols 2025
Classic carols with a jazz twist – fresh arrangements of Silent Night, O Come, All Ye Faithful, The First Noël, and more.
World-class musicianship – performances from vocalists Libby Key, Becca Wilkins, and Helen Bond, alongside pianist Lewis James, bassist Guy Dempsey, and drummer Lewis Isaacs.
Special jazz settings – including arrangements inspired by Bob Mintzer, Wayne Shorter, and Birgitta Flick’s acclaimed sextet-and-organ version of Silent Night.
Moments of reflection – short readings and spoken contributions woven through the music.
